Pull and string dictionary, 2010

For some time I have been interested in rural environments, especially in the division between rural and urban. This was also the motivation behind my pull and string dictionary. I wanted to explore the urban-rural relationship through a collection of definitions from a very broad perspective. The extreme shrinkage of villages is many times connected with the total collapse of infrastructures. And at that point the self-sustainability is the only solution. To be independent from electricity, water and food production is easier in rural environments. The pull and string mechanism incorporated in the dictionary enables the reader to find the way home in the dark. With that, the dictionary connects self-sustainability and knowledge.
