In order to step into the future

What comes first is awareness.

In order to step into the future you need to face the past. Francesca’s notebook takes the form of a multi-material pastiche scattered with words from different newspapers and information sources, meant to be experienced in both a visual and a tactile way in its six parts. This project explores the concept of roots and origins, connecting nature and nurture in both a personal and a collective scope. It is inspired by the traditional tools of a working class family and the need for environmental consciousness in the face of technology and progress.

This piece tackles the hard challenge of choosing what to keep and what to ditch from our origins without forgetting them or getting trapped in them, in order to be able to build our new way forward.
