As a young curator, my curatorial practice is developed mostly through volunteering. Ever since my academic years I was involved in the curatorial practice one way or another. To start with, I have assisted my professor of museology to curate our department’s annual exhibition, titled “Fear and its visual negotiation”. I was in charge of the “Abandonment/Desperation” section of the exhibition. Although in my internship in the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art was mainly focused on the historical research and the educational programmes, during the preparation of the exhibition “Desire for Freedom: Art in Europe since 1945”, I was assisting mr. Denys Zacharopoulos which was the educational experience. Lastly, the past few months among others I work as an independent curator for various exhibitions and festivals in my hometown. Working together with young artists and searching for new approaches of curating has been a great experience so far. Finally, I was participant in the NEON Curatorial Exchange in London 2016, an initiative organized by Whitechapel Gallery and NEON. That experience was of utmost importance since I had the chance to see as an insider the art world of London.
